Latest CKS/NICE guidance and evidence summaries

Asthma, eczema and migraine are among the 44 new topics that NICE has added to its Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) website, aimed at practitioners in primary care and relaunched in March this year as part of NICE’s updated suite of resources.

NICE has also published new guidance recently on topics including: hypertension in pregnancy (quality standard), urinary tract infection in people under 16 (quality standard), rheumatoid arthritis (quality standard) and dapagliflozin combination therapy in Type 2 diabetes (technology appraisal).

In the Medicines and Prescribing Centre, recent evidence summaries for new medicines include one on the use of canakinumab in gouty arthritis, another on beclometasone/formoterol for maintenance and reliever asthma treatment, and another on fluticasone furoate plus vilanterol for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
